Refugee Women's Alliance

Serving refugee and immigrant women and families

ReWA and Al-Shifa Clinic partner to make the first open-community student run clinic in Seattle.

The clinic will act as a screening point for major health issues such hypertension and diabetes and will function as a centralized treatment and referral system to direct patients to available resources in an interdisciplinary fashion. The primary goal, first and foremost, is to make quality healthcare a reality for the local immigrant and refugee communities of Puget Sound, which faces several language and cultural barriers in obtaining care in the traditional healthcare system. With the help and support from ReWA, AlShifa Clinic aims to reduce these barriers and to ensure that basic healthcare is not a luxury, but a human right.
